One Visit, No Dermatology Referral

We handle common skin and soft-tissue procedures in our Venice, FL office

Minor surgical procedures in Venice, FL at Paradise Family Healthcare save you the time, cost, and wait of a separate dermatology visit. Dr. Pamela Miller, DO and our medical team perform skin biopsies, benign-lesion excisions, skin tag removal, and wart removal directly in our office. Most procedures take less than 30 minutes, use local anesthesia, and require no referral.

When a lesion needs pathology review we send the specimen to a lab on your behalf, and we personally call you with the results. When follow-up wound care is needed, it is provided by the same team that did the procedure. Integrated care, one office, no surprises.

Minor Surgical Procedures in Venice, FL: FAQs

What to expect from an in-office procedure

01 What minor procedures do you perform in-office?

Paradise Family Healthcare performs skin biopsies (shave, punch, and excisional), benign lesion excisions, skin tag removal, and wart removal (common and plantar warts). All procedures are performed under local anesthesia by our medical team in our Venice, FL office.

02 Do I need a referral?

No referral is required. Call (941) 488-2332 to schedule an evaluation. If the lesion can be treated in-office, we can often do it during the same visit or book a dedicated procedure slot within a few days.

03 How long does a biopsy take?

Most skin biopsies take between 10 and 20 minutes from prep to bandage. Pathology results typically return within 5 to 10 business days, and we will call you personally with results and next steps.

04 Is it covered by insurance?

In-office minor surgical procedures are generally covered by major commercial insurance and Medicare when they are medically indicated. Cosmetic removals of purely benign lesions may not be covered. We will verify coverage with your plan before the procedure.

05 Do you send biopsy results to a lab?

Yes. We partner with a dermatopathology lab for all specimens that require pathology review. We handle the paperwork and billing with the lab, and we review your results personally once they return.
