Primary Care Services
At Paradise Family Healthcare, we provide family healthcare from age 12 and up. Services include:
- Preventive health physicals. We look at the patient's entire state of health to determine what kind of screening might be appropriate. Ex: colon cancer screening, breast cancer screening, prostate cancer screening.
- Sports physicals. These are for high school students needing a physician to sign off so they can participate in sports. The goal is to detect any cardiac anomalies that could result in sudden death on the field or arena. We also check for hernias or other orthopedic issues that might affect performance or should be treated before engaging in athletic activity.
- School physicals. Some schools require a doctor's physical to enroll.
- DOT physicals. The Department of Transportation (DOT) requires a comprehensive physical exam to obtain or maintain a commercial driving license. Paradise Family Healthcare performs DOT physicals. For more information, click here.
- Well woman exams. Similar to a preventative health physical, but with added attention to cervical cancer screening, reproductive health and other gynecological concerns.
- Management of chronic health problems. We provide treatment for chronic conditions such as diabetes, COPD, osteoporosis and hypertension.
- Minor surgical procedures:
- Skin biopsies, excisions, wart removal, skin tag removal. We can biopsy and provide treatment in-house so you don’t have to make an extra trip to a dermatologist or surgeon. Minor procedures can be done in-house.
- Wound care. Senior patients have very thin skin, so extra care is required when stitches won’t work. We also treat pressure ulcers and other wounds common with elderly patients. As we get older, healing slows. So a senior patient might need attention weekly to make sure their wound doesn’t get infected. For example, a gash on a forearm could take 2 month to heal.
- Diagnostics including:
- EKGs.
- Pulmonary function tests.
- Quick strep and quick flu tests.
- COVID-19 Testing. We’re in the process of picking out a COVID rapid test, but we’re not quite ready yet. Please check back soon.
